56 km north of Beaufort West \ 42 km south of Three Sisters Ultra City (32 on gravel road from N1 turn-off at Krom River\Loxton sign

Comfortable,  fully-catered accommodation in a historic farmhouse or self-catering accommodation in another farm house or in rustic stone hikers huts. There is also a campsite for self-contained campers.

Activities include bird watching, game viewing, hikes & walks, swimming, scenic drives, picnics, 4x4 routes and mountaIn biking. Limited hunting of designated game species is available by prior arrangement only.

Marked trails have been developed and maps and suggestions on suitable 4x4 drives, mountain bike trails and hikes are available. Guests are welcome to watch and participate in many farm activities and there is usually something to interest visitors of all ages. Of course participation is subject to consideration for visitors' safety and comfort, and the wellbeing of the animals.

Springbuck and fallow deer are plentiful and usually easily seen. With patience and a bit of luck you may spot many species, such as baboons, antbears, steenbok, various rabbits and hares, jackals, foxes, mongoose, otters, meerkats (suricate), lynx and wild native cats.

Keen bird watchers may be rewarded with sightings of some 80 species, and many birds can be seen around the crop lands, river and weirs, all quite close to the homestead.

For plant enthusiasts the Karoo's unique flora is full of interest, and there are often dramatic floral displays after good rains when unusual plants suddenly come into bloom.

Ian and Sonia Taylor's three star traditional guest farm offers seven luxurious, spacious, fully-equipped, cool, comfortable chalets, each has two bedrooms and can sleep up to six people. DSTV in all chalets.

The farm offers a professionally designed 40 minute walk - the Porcupine Trail which leads to a bird hide on the dam, collect your bird list at reception. For more energetic walkers there's 7000ha of farm to explore! You can fossil hunt - but remember no fossils may be removed. Horse-riding and game/info drives are available and at new moon you can join Astrotours for an opportunity to view the stars at Olive Grove. Guests with 4x4 vehicles are most welcome to explore the farm - make arrangements at reception. 

This is also an excellent base from which to explore the Karoo. The Karoo National Park is just 17km away and Beaufort West, Prince Albert, the Swartberg Pass and Meiringspoort make interesting destinations for day trips - 

a picnic basket can be arranged.

Olive Grove Guest Farm offers full restaurant facilities which are also open to the public.  Each chalet has its own braai facilities or guests can enjoy braai and potjie around a camp fire in the beautiful "Boma"  under the famous Karoo stars. The swimming pool area boasts a thatched "lapa" with braai and potjie facilities, ideal for enjoying a summer's day with family and friends.

The Olive Grove Guest Farm is an ideal spot for conferences - away from the noise and the rush of the city. (20-30 people). We cater for weddings, conferences, corporate and private functions and tour groups.
The Olive Grove Guest Farm is a working farm with more than 8000 trees. We sell our olives and olive oil at the farm.
